First release (September 2026)
Qaudio is a desktop music player for social-dance DJs, plus a live board that dancers open on their phones.
Windows (single installer for 64-bit and 32-bit) · macOS (Universal, Intel and Apple Silicon).
Library
- Point Qaudio at your music folders and it reads title, artist, album, genre, BPM, duration and cover art automatically (mp3, m4a/aac, flac, wav, ogg, opus).
- Stays responsive with 5,000+ tracks: progress, cancel, incremental rescans, missing-file flags.
- Instant search (Korean/English, prefix), genre chips, BPM range, column sorting, smart filters (recently added, BPM bands, never played, no BPM).
- Genre tags are normalized to dance genres (salsa, bachata, kizomba, merengue, cha-cha, tango, swing, zouk, cumbia) and can be edited.
- Tracks without BPM are analyzed in the background (genre-aware tempo range, confidence shown).
Playback
- Two decks (A/B), gapless playback, 0–12 s equal-power crossfade, original tempo and pitch always preserved.
- Auto-mix: the next queued track is pre-loaded and takes over on the other deck when the fade time is reached.
- Master limiter, 3-band EQ, level meters, waveform minimap, output device selection, click-free start/stop/seek.
- Queue and playlists (drag reorder, play next, shuffle), M3U/M3U8 import/export, play history and counts.
- Keyboard shortcuts (Space play, Q queue, X fade, F11 second monitor, Ctrl+F search, …) and media keys.
Live board (for dancers)
- Dancers scan the QR or enter the 6-character room code at
qaudio.jennysoft.co.kr/live/<code>and see now playing, up next, genre, BPM and progress within a second. No app install, works on mobile data. - Offline fallback on the same Wi‑Fi (LAN address), and a full-screen board for a second monitor or TV.
- DJ message bar: pin notices such as “Tonight: salsa 3 : bachata 3”.
- Set planner: set target counts per genre, compare with what has actually been played, get the next genre suggested, fill the queue by plan.
- Audio files never leave your computer — only track info, a small cover thumbnail and messages are sent.
Also
- Dark pro-audio design from 1024×640 up to 4K, Korean and English UI (follows system language).
- Settings, library and queue are stored locally and restored on restart.
- Auto-update via the website feed, third-party license notices included.
Known limitations
- Headphone pre-listening (cue monitor) arrives in a later version.
- Writing edited BPM/genre back to file tags will roll out starting with mp3.
- The Windows installer is not code-signed yet; SmartScreen may warn (“More info → Run anyway”).
